Licensing
Licensing
How the licences were structured across stakes and across poker clients.
Two stake tiers
A licence was issued per poker client, in one of two tiers. The midstakes licence was valid up to NL500. The highstakes licence carried no stake ceiling and could be used at whatever limit the player wanted.
More clients, more discount
Because the software supported more poker clients than most of its contemporaries, the licences were tiered to make running several of them affordable: a quarter off the second client added, and half off every third and further client.
Trial, activation and refunds
The trial ran for five days and needed no registration; the later subscription releases used a seven day trial instead. A licence arrived by return and was copied into the NEED4SEAT folder to activate the client it covered.
A full refund was offered within fourteen days of purchase for any reason, and under the later subscription model the money for the current subscription period was refunded on request while the subscription was still active, with the licence disabled at that point.
Referrals
The Tell-A-Friend programme returned ten per cent of every order placed by a referred player as a discount code against the referrer's own licences.
Ordering ran through a third-party payment processor; no card details were ever held by the software or the site. The Privacy Policy sets out what was stored and why.
